Concept Brief - Living With Certainty

Vote 0 Votes
Certaintylogo1.gif
From the Original Concept Brief:
:: We are living in some of the most uncertain times in the history of our nation. We are certainly not at the level of uncertainty of the 1930's in which many people took their own lives because of their inability to handle the economic struggles. Many people jumped out of windows in major cities willing to face eternity, rather than to face an uncertain future.

::Without a doubt there are those in this sanctuary who are living with uncertainties. You wonder if your business or the company you work for is going to make it. You wonder if your paycheck is going to be enough to survive. You wonder if your government is going to continue a downward spiral. You wonder ultimately what the future holds in many ways.

::With this in mind, The Lord has led me to a book in the Bible that I am sure you will have to look in the index of your Bible to find. The book of Habakkuk is written by a prophet of God during a time when Israel was facing uncertainty. The nation has turned away from it's God and now is facing the awful results of its sin.

:: Sermon Titles ::
1 - This Isn't Fair -  Habakkuk 1
2 - Turst Me -  Habakkuk 2
3 - A Nation Exposed -  Habakkuk 3
4 - Headed in the Right Direction -  Habakkuk 3

:: With the imagery of this series, we need to convey a darkness that has enshrouded the word "Certainty". The concept behind the child's song, "This Little Light of Mine" is a great visual to how the times of our country and church are feeling. The softness of the word "Certainty" is almost encompassed but never overcome. "The light shines in the darkness and the darkness does not overpower it." John 1:5

:: Handouts ::

:: Handouts will be produced with the normal grid structure. The feel of the bulletins has a serious nature to them with a strong contrast of light and dark. The first three bulletins need to convey a heavier setting of darker arrangements with the color scheme while Bulletin 4 will be reversed with the darkness taking a secondary stage to lighter color still maintaining a serious emotion attached to it.

:: Other Mediums Explored ::

:: Original artwork will be introduced that has been developed by a local artist. The artist was given manuscripts of the series and has come up with one piece for the series. This piece will flow side-by-side the series design and if possible be adapted into the bulletins for the series. This is an experimental avenue that will be reviewed afterwards to see if we can expand this into more areas of CRH. :: nlawson.com Note:  I am speaking with the artist now. If I receive permission to photograph this piece, I will post it to the site ::
