Beginning of Design Week
:: We had a great weekend, mostly relaxing. I typically take Saturday off and enjoy family time, but I ended up working on this site all day! We are really excited, not necessarily on the aspect we expect to gain a position with The Lampo Group, but just to have an opportunity to be doing this. It's different, isn't it? I mean, I would think it surprising to find a lot of people to throw this much into one place, right? But think about it. We are in the middle of a recession. Some say it is over, but I don't think so. I think we still have a ways to go. And of course there are hundreds, maybe thousands just like me looking of designer positions. You must receive thousands of resumes. What makes someone stand out from the rest? What makes them unique. Undoubtably, they are unique, but resumes are so... mundane! Especially for designers. It is a start, yes, and you have to start somewhere. But I want to stand out like the others. And since we are in a recession, that means I have to work that much harder to get your attention.
:: That's fine, I will throw all I have at you, and you decide if that works for you. So with that, here is where we stand:
:: The story for the book is complete! Here it is:
There was once a designer who worked at a church
But then there was an event that gave him a lurch!
He loved his job, he loved to create
Yet it seemed the economy had told him, "Checkmate!"
O, sad little designer, what should you do?
Get your resume together, do it! Now SHOO!
He looked, and looked, and what did he find?
Not a tit, not a tat, not a place to unwind.
"Ok", he said, "I will do it alone!"
"I will create, I will sell, I will work to the bone!"
Again, the economy, it made such a fuse.
The sad little designer, he sat and said, "Bogus"
Then he remembered during his days at job seeking
There was a group out there who kept on shrieking:
"We're debt free! We're debt free!", that was there cry,
He remembered the class where his credit cards went bye-bye!
I will seek employment with The Lampo Group
A job like that would make me go, "WHOOP WHOOP!"
I want a job that will make a difference,
To help people say to their debt, "Good Riddance!!"
So to end this story of the sad little designer,
A job with Dave Ramsey, there would be nothing finer!

Yes, it rhymes! I also am going to develop a book mark with this slogan:
"Do you have a spot open you are looking to hire
A designer whose skills you would like to acquire?"

I thought it was - well cute I guess would be the best word to describe it. Whatever...
:: Also, I think I have come up with an idea for the video. It's still in it's infancy but this week, I hope to have it storyboarded. I will say upfront, I apologize for any audio and video aspects that are below par. I am working with what I got, no HD here!
Ok, enough for now... on to work!
